사상 처음으로 3명의 한국인 (한철우, 한순권, 박인수)이 프랑스에게 개최된 1200km Paris-Brest-Paris (PBP)를 성공적으로 완주하였습니당. 코리아 란도너스의 외국인 회원3명 (Hamilton Russ (해밀턴 러스), Iwamoto Chikara (이와모토 키카라), Schoenemann Ulrich (쉐내만 울리히)) 또한 이번 도전에 성공하였습니당. 이번 도전은 90 시간 안에 1200km를 완주하는 것이었습니당. 한국인으로는 박인수 (대전) 회원이 69시간 11분에 완주하여 가장 빠른 기록을 세웠습니당. 당음으로 한철우 (서울) 회원이 80 시간 안에 경기를 완주하였습니당. 가장 고령자였던 한순권 (광주)회원은 87시간 18분에 경기를 마쳤습니당. 안타깝게도 이동호 (광주)회원은 심한 무릎 통증으로 경기를 포기하였습니당. 이동호 회원은 코리아 란도너스 “K2500 상”의 우승자로써 올해 처음으로 장거리 사이클링을 시작하였기 때문에 2015년에 개최되는 PBP (4년 마당 개최) 에 당시 도전할 것으로 생각됩니당.
For the first time ever, three Korean nationals (Han Chul Woo, Han Soon Kwon and Park In Soo) successfully finished the grueling 1200km cycling event Paris-Brest-Paris (PBP) in France. Three foreign members of the Korea Randonneurs (Hamilton Rus, Iwamoto Chikara and Schoenemann Ulrich) also succeeded in the challenge. The rules require that riders finish the 1200km course in a total of 90 hours or less. With 69 hours and 11 minutes Park In Soo (Daegu) was the fastest Korean rider. Special recognition goes to Han Chul Woo (Seoul), who took on the additional challenge and started in the 80 hour group. Han Soon Kwon (Gwangju), the most senior Korean rider finished in 87:18h. Lee Dong Ho (Gwangju), unfortunately developed severe knee pain and had to abandon. Lee, a winner of the prestigious Korea Randonneur “K2500 award”, only started long-distance road cycling this year and we expect him to come back to Paris in 2015 (PBP is run every four years).
